Rudy began dabbling in photography during the first Gulf war while serving in the USAF. During the course of his military career, he found himself carrying a camera on most trips, excited to capture new landscapes and events.
In 2001, while stationed in West Africa, he purchased his first digital camera and put together a portfolio about the Sahara, which eventually turned into a book. After he retired in 2009, he teamed up with world-renowned photographer, Frank Ruggles who became a friend and mentor.
In late 2015, Rudy released his first series of large platinum/palladium prints, after spending a week with Hidden Light selecting and perfecting the series.
Rudy’s passion for landscape photography keeps him on the road throughout the US and across the world, looking for new adventures.
